Hello, I’m Steven Lucas—a freelance motion designer, visual metaphor maker, and conceptual storyteller. I’m motivated by the way typography, systems, music, design, and motion can come together to make an idea not just clear and understandable, but memorable.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles and now call Rhode Island home. When I’m not in front of my computer, I’m usually spending time with my wife, Sarah, our son, Teddy, and our golden retriever, Cooper.

I’m a Rhode Island School of Design alumni and now teach in RISD’s Continuing Education Graphic Design program, where I get to share some of what I’ve learned while continuing to learn from the next generation of designers.
